Monday 2 February Penguin (touring)
Sunny and warm 24
We left the apartment at 9.30 taking both cars as far as Wynyard. We are expecting to play golf here this afternoon. We left the Jag in a carpark by the river and then went to Stanley. Although we have been there before, it is still a spectacular drive along the coast. Dad decided to take the chair lift to the top of the Nut while we took the steep trek straight up. It's a heart break hill, we had forgotten just how steep the pathway is and although it tracks 3 ways, the 1st and 2nd part are very steep that you are on your toes the whole way. We stopped to take photos of Dad on the chairlift, then joined him in the 2km walk which circumnavigates The Nut. It was a truly beautiful day with a light breeze, lots of sunshine and I captured some great photos.
After our trip around The Nut we went to the Hotel and had lunch fresh Lobster with chips and salad. We traveled back to Wynyard and found Seabrook Golf Club which is an 18 holes course, very country style but with 9 "original" holes which are links style. We teed off by 3.30 and finished just after 7pm – love the long days with lots of sunshine, Today the winner was Tarina with Chris and Dad tied for 2nd place.
We didn’t arrive home until after 8 and dinner was just a snack.
