Friday 13 February Barnbougle to Launceston
Windy and Cool 21
This morning we had booked yet another game at Barnbougle. I was convinced I could improve on the last round and had managed to get a motorised buggy for Dad. We set off but it was cold and windy, We managed the first 4 or so holes out then turned into the wind back to the club house. Dad pulled out and went off to read the paper and we played the last 9 holes. I must say I was a bit over the wind by the 18th.
We had lunch and then set off for Launceston which was just 1.5hrs drive away. We stopped at a lookout on the Tamar River for a photo then at Velo hoping to do a wine tasting but it was too crowded so continued on to our accommodation.
This afternoon we set off to Cataract Gorge, parking the car near the entry to the walk at the bridge we followed the path up the gorge to the rotunda. We had an ice cream and watched the peacocks which were very friendly and would eat the food out of your hand given the chance. We crossed the suspension bridge and took some great photos of the rock (Dolomite) formations.
That night we went to the Launceston Country Club for dinner and decided that is we returned to Launceston we should stay in the motel style accommodation there as it looked very nice.
The World Cup Cricket has started in Melbourne which is being televised so the guys are happy and that is viewing for the evening.
