Wednesday 1 August 30C Reims to Paris. Today is the last day of our holiday and so this is our final entry. We caught the train from Reims to Paris this morning and left our bags at the hotel as check-in was not until 3pm. The sales have finished and all the autumn fashions have arrived in the shops, I was surprised how quickly they cleared out the sale items and had the new stock ready to sell overnight. Sunday 29 July - Paris - 20C. We waved our friends goodbye after breakfast and decided to spend the morning in the shops until the day warmed up. Crossed the river, walked past the Louvre and up Avenue de la Opera only to discover that no stores are open on Sunday in Paris, we should have known. Saturday 28 July - Aix-en-Provence to Paris - 23C. This morning we finished packing and went to the TGV station to catch the fast train to Paris. The train was full and 3 hours later we arrived in Paris. We took the Metro to our hotel which proved a little challenging as we needed to change trains and there were no lifts at the crossover. Google GPS on the phone once again proved useful and quickly led us to our hotel. We are staying at the Hotel Petit Belloy...
