Hi All!
Just a quick one to let you know I'm still alive, although things haven't gone to plan already (not surprising for me!). I wasn't allowed on my connecting flight to Livingstone as I didn't have a Yellow Fever certificate, completely my fault, I didn't think I needed it as Zambia isn't a Yellow Fever Risk Zone but as I'm passing through South Africa (even though I'm not stepping foot outside the bloody airport) I still need one as South Africa is at risk. So a few tears (I lie - there were more than a few!), $100 and 24 hours later me and my Yellow Fever protected body will be boarding a flight to Livingstone, where I will be met at the airport by a worker from Love Volunteers and beginning my volunteer placement.
I'm not going to lie I was upset at the time but eventually I sucked it up and behaved like a grown up instead of a 14 year old girl (for once in my life) and got on and sorted it. Now the drama has died down I can see that it will just be one of the many things that will undoubtedly go wrong over these 6 months but it's really not that big a deal, just a bit annoying and boring waiting around, so no worrying about me please!!
Right I'm off to find a cosy bed for the night and by that I mean a cold metal bench!! I will be in touch hopefully with better news asap
Love to you all back home xxx
