Life in Rainbow Beach is AWESOME!!! I love it here.
I am well aware of how frequently I use this word I try to stop myself but it's a habit now. As you can tell I am loving life :) no real change there.
I've been in Rainbow Beach working at the hostel Frasers on Rainbow for 10 days now and things are going so well. All the staff here are lovely, I share a room with the other 'work for acom' people; a couple from Yorkshire, a girl from Blackburn and a bloke from Germany.
My days consist of getting up and having breakfast by the pool whilst reading and getting some sun, folding linen and making beds from 10 until 1-3pm (depending how many people checked out the previous day), going to the beach, laying by the pool or hanging out on the balcony in our room, then from 6pm I do dinner prep, take food orders and do dishes in the hostel kitchen (I have been nicknamed 'Dish pig' by the Aboriginal chef who I think has a soft spot for me as I'm the only one he hasn't threatened to chop the fingers off!), then clean the kitchen, finishing anywhere between 9pm and 10pm, I then get my free meal and free pint and spend the rest of my evening drinking at the bar (40% off for staff) or hanging around with the other staff before doing the same thing again the next day.
Perks of the job included; free washing, one hour a week free internet, 40% off all drinks (sometimes free if you get the right person serving you ;) ), 40% off meals (or free when you work an evening shift), fridge in bedroom (so no more bread or orange juice being stolen). I work 10 hours a week to cover my accomodation and anything extra I do is cash in hand :) so should hopefully make about $400 in these two weeks.
Today is Easter Sunday so I got up at ridiculous o'clock (ok it was 7am but when you get to bed at 2am that is ridiculous o'clock) and went to the local Catholic Church which was basically a posh hut in the middle of nowhere. It feels strange and not at all like Easter out here as I'm not going to lots of masses in a week, having a roast, eating eggs or visiting the family. Lent is finally over so I can finally eat chocolate again but I can barely afford it out here; a Mars Bar is nearly 2 pound and the cheapest egg is about 10 pound. I can afford it but I would rather wait until Monday when they're cheap.
I miss everyone at home a lot this weekend as Easter feels like such a family time of year. I'm excited to see Fraser Island at the end of the week though but slightly sad to be leaving my Rainbow family so soon. I wish I'd not wasted my time in other places looking for work and just come here but as I know everything happens for a reason.

Baraa 三24 The so-called culture dseret. It is easy as a pile for me to understand what the film represent, but hard for nonnative. Maybe they only consider it as a film which can easily arouse their enthusiasm. I want to have the password to your encrypted post, can i ?
