Fraser Island is one of the most beautiful places I've EVER seen!!!

We were put into cars of 8 and there were 4 cars with a leader in the front one. I loved my group, we had; Anna the crazy Russian, Stacey the Scot, Kim the Manc, two Andys from Bristol, Charlie from Germany (who nearly killed us with her driving) and Sarah from Canada. We drove around the island with music blaring, swimming in clear water lakes surrounded my sand dunes and rainforests, floated down creeks, got stuck in the sand and had to push the cars out, climbed hills to shark spot and look at the views. In the evening we cooked dinner, drank and played games, star gazed on the beach until Dingos chased us and camped in tents until the sun woke us up in the morning.

I have NEVER seen stars that bright, we could see the Milky Way, Mars, the lots. I could have laid on that beach for hours watching them. I got up for sunrise as well but there were clouds on the horizon so it wasn't great. We were very lucky with the weather and with the group we had. The island is covered with wild Dingos who look like a mixture of a dog and a fox and they do attack! Only the week before a girl was taken to hospital because she got attacked by a pack of them. We weren't allowed to go anywhere alone, we had to carry a 'Dingo Stick', no food was allowed in the tents or left outside the trailer at night. We saw a few on the beach one night but other than waking up to paw prints around the campsite they left us alone.

It's hard to describe to beauty of it all, Lake McKenzie, Lake Wabby and Eli Creek are personal highlights of mine. It was such a fun weekend in such a beautiful location. I didn't drive, those who did loved it, they did try and convince me too but I'm really not confident enough to do it. It just meant I could have a few drinks on the drive back to the campsite :)
