Day 18 - Arriving in Bangalore we got to Royal Regency Lodge, after only one hour and 5 rooms we were in a lovely restaurant eating amazing masala dosa and a top cheese sandwich with sweet Lassis (very yoghurty!). Our first stop was Bengaluru Palace which greatly resembled Windsor Castle and contained everything from elephant heads to old fashioned fridges. The nice security guard outside even let us take one photo! The Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath Arts Gallery contained many beautiful pictures of the Himalayas by Roerich and old Mysore drawings in gold as well as many tribal pieces and some scary looking puppets. Locating St Mark's Cathedral proved difficult for rickshaw drivers but once there we managed to sneak a look inside at the white building with gold stars. Walking down MG Road for Olivia to find the Hard Rock Cafe a monsoon hit and after wandering round a 15 storey shopping centre we retreated for an interesting baked bean and feta sandwich and leek and potato soup. We decided Cubbon Park in the rain was a bad idea so we went back to the hotel through flooded Bangalore streets and over a powercut filled dinner Olivia attracted a random man who came to our table!
