We had a great day exploring stockholm, we started with a free city walking tour which showed us lots of sights and history about the city. Brett was in desperate need of a hair cut so we found a hair cut and paid $45 OMG they said sometimes you can pay up to $200 for a men's haircut. We did some shopping Brett got a new shirt had some lunch then visited the Vasa museum.
The museum has a ship in it from the 1628 it is well know as on 10 August 1628 Vasa set sail on her maiden voyage and sank in the stockholm harbour it only sailed 1500m before it fell to one side and sank.
The wreck was salvaged in 1961 after 333 years under the sea. They reconstructed the ship and its now 98% original, it was a pretty amazing site to see there are hundred of carved sculptures around the boat. We spent a few hours looking around the museum which they built around the ship.
We headed home to get ready to meet the boys, we headed for our meeting spot but when we arrived the plans had changed and we were now going on Daniels wooden boat which he had talked about a lot in Croatia, so we were excited about that. In there usual style the boys had stocked the boat with snacks, beer, champagne, rum and cider for me and we spent the afternoon (which had turned out to be beautiful after the morning of showers)cruising around the stockholm islands. We disembarked the boat which was a challenge as I was in a shortish dress as I thought we were going on the other boat, we headed out for dinner on the river bank I had tuna fish , not like me but very delicious. We had a great night lots of drinks and laughs.
