Hellloooo,
Once again i am waiting for some transport, this time its the train down to Bangkok which leaves at 9pm.. so i have a while to go. Now i've checked out of the room i havent got much to do and so i posted some postcards, and im updating the blog properly for once. At 15B an hour i might as well. I'm also trying to find some accommodation on Koh Tao - my destinatio, as im not just going to Bangkok, im actually just going there to get a train down to Chumphon and then a boat out to Koh Tao... its going to be a long long journey, and i hope the beach is worth it but it would be nice to have a room booked before i get there as its technically high season..although i'm hoping places wont be too full after the airport crisis... is that wishful thinking?
Anyway ive made some good friends in Chiang Mai, and had a lovely relaxing time here, can walk around without a map after afew hours and the trekking i did was good, although the white water rafting was not the best thing ive ever done, probably because the raft flipped in the first 5minutes and we all nearly drowned. I think people actually think im exaggerating... well unfortunately there arent any pictures. I had bruises, other people have cuts, and i had some water in my lungs,,, but its not the same as actually being there and not being able to breathe or get hold of any rocks or boats. It wasnt a great start, and i protested i wanted to get out as soon as i got back in the boat, but alas i carried on and im glad i did, as i think im alot less scared of the raft flipping over now (not because it wasnt scary...because it was!). So yeah my muscles are still recovering from that.
I think i have found a plce to stay, but i will need to call them and see if they have rooms... and i dont know how to use the phones yet! I'll ask at the guesthouse or try my mobile...
Anyway i think its lunch time now and i want a baguette today so i might have to go on a bit of a hunt for that.
