On Sunday we arrived in Surfers Paradise, our first stop on the Gold Coast. It was only a 3 hour coach journey from Byron Bay, so as soon as we got there and checked into our hostel we had time to go and look around. We also ended up having a 4 bed room to ourselves too which was a bit of luck.

There wasn't too much to do in surfers paradise and we spent most of our time shopping and eating, Carys was in her element with all the shops. After a couple days of shopping, and relaxing we booked ourselves onto a whale watching tour for the last day but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the weather.

We are now on the coach again to the next leg of our trip, which is Hervey Bay and the 3 day tour of Fraser Island.
