We are in a town called Dalat at the moment. It's further inland so the weather is slightly cooler which is nice. We are only here for two nights before we head back to the coast in Mui Ne, and then take a sleeper train to Ho Chin Minh City. We are definitely taking the sleeper train as we took the sleeper bus from Hoi An to Nha Trang and it was an experience that we do not want to repeat in a hurry. It was horrid. The roads are scary at the best of times, let alone with a crazy bus driver. The bus seperated into three rows of bunk beds but its so cramped its unbelievable, and then there was the toilet on board, even I could only just turn around inside. The lady next to me wouldn't have even fit through the door. Plus when I woke up in the night there were loads of locals asleep in the tiny corridors (snoring away) so you couldnt move even if you wanted. We heard lots of other people also saying that they will never take one again.
Tomorrow we are going to do a canyoning trip jumping off waterfalls etc. so should be good fun.
Shaun is now an Advanced Open Water diver which is really good as we can now do lots of dives together. He did 3 fulls days of scuba diving and because he spent so much time in the water his little toe nail has come off! And to make it even worse, he kept it and is carrying it around in his wallet, he is officially disgusting.
We were staying in a lovely clean guesthouse with air conditioning, en suite bathroom with hot water for only US$7 a night, it has been our cheapest so far. And the cheapest beer we have found is 12p (Matt C from work said the cheapest he found was 7p so can someone tell him that we are still hunting). Its crazy when its cheaper to drink beer than water, so my plan of coming back ridiculously skinny has gone way out the window.
Last night we were on the beach having some beers and then got invited to join in with a group of locals that were having a party, giving us loads of beers and playing games. It was very fun and very random. They were just constantly topping up our drinks and offering us food, it was brilliant.
We've been looking out for mad things being carried on motorbikes and we've seen: a 12' ish ladder on the left shoulder, a double matress, a upright fridge freezer (about 6'), corragated iron sheets, baby (in the womans left arm) and another motorbike sideways over the back seat!!! the most people we've seen on one bike is 5.

Mariana Sounds like the kind of fun I am definitely too old for! I like the cheap guest house though. Even South Africans can afford that. Can you take pictures of your dives? Ty just did a scuba diving course and I am sure would be interested to see the pics.keep on having fun!Love, Mariana
