Bohol is a quaint little island, just one of the 7000 islands Philippines has to offer, and it’s famous for its Chocolate Hills and Tarsier Sanctuary’s. We stayed at Nipa hut village, Bohol guesthouse in a bamboo hut on stilts and were away from the road, and that all you could here was the nature and the family that lived there, it was really nice to be away from Cebu city. We rented a bike and went around a place called Carmen and Loboc; there are lots of places named Carmen something or another here, he he. First stop was a “zoo” which I don’t really like, but it was worth it as I saw some great creatures here that I hadn’t seen before. We then went to see the adorable tarsiers these funny little monkeys are so cool. The Tarsier is the World’s smallest primate, smaller than a human hand. It has huge eyes which are bigger than its stomach and its brain, which perhaps explains why they don't run and hide when people come along to stare at them. When they stare back with their big imploring eyes it makes you feel very very guilty that they are now such an endangered species! They can even tilt their heads 360 degrees. They are incredibly cute creatures - probably the next pet for Paris Hilton when she sees them... . After the cooing over the tiny animal next stop was chocolate hills…wait a minute don’t get excited…they are mound of earth, I know, I was disappointed, I was expecting mounds of cocoa powder or something out of willy wonkas chocolate factor. Chocolate Hills are a unique terrain of 1200 coral and limestone mounds that literally pop put of a relatively flat area and are generally brownish in color, whereby its name comes from the hills are pretty cool, not amazing or spectacular but cool and interesting scenery. So after some photos we take off for some more motor biking. We then went to a zip line, which I was too scared to go on, I hate heights, but it was fun to watch and hear the others scream. After the fun stuff we went to visit another church that was built in 1500. Whist we were there I got some food, some sweet potatoes and grilled bananas on sticks, all for about 5p and was quite tasty. Our driver then stopped for us to get some huge bottle of beer, 1 lite of san Miguel or red horse which is really strong for beer all for about 35-50p max, 2 of those bad boys and I’m done.
