I left Chiang Mai at 8:30pm and arrived at the boarded at 2am where we stayed in a guest house for the rest of the night. We were up early the next morning and taken to the boarder to collect our visas $35. We crossed from Thailand to Laos on a long boat and boarded another boat which would take us to Luang Prabang. We had to purchase a cushion for the journey as i had to sit on the floor for two days. I meet lots of people on the boat as we were all stuck on there for two days, have a look at the photos to see the lovely boat.
Once we arrived in Luang Prabang the 11 friends i had made on the boat all decided to stay at the same guest house. That evening we all went out for street food , noodle soup lovely and then on to a bar where our tuk tuk driver got so drunk he couldn't stand up but still wanted to drive us home, when we refused he got very upset and drove himself home.
Luang Prabang is very pretty and has a french influence so there are lots of cake and coffee shops which i loved. After months without cake i suggested afternoon tea at one of the coffee shops where i got to sample many different cakes yum yum, this is where the weight started to go on.
We went to see Tat Kuang waterfall which was beautiful but dangerous to see as the small bridges broke as you walked across them (could be all the cakes we had eaten). At 5:30am the following day half of us went to see the 200-300 monks walk through the town on their way to the temples.
