Most of the action in Noosa happens in Noosa Heads; home of trendy Hastings Street and access point for the main surf beach.
I couldn't come to Australia without at least attempting to surf - so I did! It was such great fun and although the waves weren't too big, they were still strong enough and lasted long enough for me to stand up on my board successfully, more than once, infact, I manged to stand so often that I lost count.
After my lesson I joined a walking trail that took me through Noosa National Park to Sunshine Beach. It was such a lovely walk to do with the sun beating down. There was a dolphin look-out point but unfortunately I was unsuccessful and didn't manage to spot one single fin. The walk took me across the cliff-tops to Alexandria beach which, unbeknown to me, was a nudist beach - mainly for old men (I picked up the pace here). Three hours after embarking on my walk, I reached Sunshine beach. The waves here were big and plentiful; I don't think I am ready for that yet after just one lesson.
