Day 38-Amsterdam On our way to the Netherlands we go! The drive through Germany was rainy, but it cleared up as we crossed the border into and through Belgium, then into the Netherlands! One of our rest stops was going into a cheese and clog factory; we learned how cheese is made, and were shown how clogs are actually carved from birch or willow, as well as some history about the shoes. Day 37 Lauterbrunnen to St Goar Another bus day of the group! We left the valley of Lauterbrunnen and Switzerland to make our way back into Germany. It was one of the Melissa's birthdays, so her fiancee planned a scavenger hunt on the coach for her, as well as a bunch of altered versions of party games for us all to participate in...so nice of Luc, and it passed the time quicker than it could have gone! Day 36-Lauterbrunnen Today, Kallee and I returned home...for a few hours anyway. The group travelled by train to the top of snow-capped Jungfrau mountain to explore and see the Swiss scenery from above. The first train stop gave us a superior view of the valley, rolling hills, and humungous mountains towering over us, all within metres of each other. It was really cool. Day 35- Munich to Lauterbrunnen We covered 4 countries today! Starting in Germany, we passed through and exited Austria and had our first rest stop in the small country of Liechtenstein. The capital, Vaduz, is where we stopped, and we had an amazing early lunch, the best part of the meal being our scrumptious ice cream desserts. Day 34- Munich This morning, we went whitewater rafting! We woke up and drove about 2 hours to get to the area where we met our raft guides and got geared up for the river. The water was cold, glacier-fed, and very refreshing to jump into, provided one had a wetsuit! The classs of rapids we tackled was 3(out of 5) and very fun. No one from our raft fell out by accident, so that was good too! We traveled along the river for about 14 kms, then ended up at the raft...
