Hello everyone, as you can see we are now on an island. We arrived yesterday morning to a rather gloomy looking island all overcast with not a patch of blue sky in sight. Luckily the sun made up for it later when it emerged, the heat was blistering and even when you were in the shade it felt like you were burning.
We are staying in another wooden hut (or shed) at the resort where Pete is doing is PADI course (that's scuba diving). A few days before we arrived they filled up the brand new swimming pool, which was such a relief from the heat, I can see me poolside for the next few days. We are literally a minute walk to the stunning beach with almost white sand and clear blue water and a few minutes from the village on Sairee beach.
Yesterday Pete had his first afternoon of his course, this was the boring bit watching videos etc and trying on equipment and stuff. He has a big book to read and even some homework to do, lot's of scary stuff, quite glad I am not doing it. I am waiting for Pete to tell me what it is like before I decide whether or not to do an introductory to diving, just one day and it is in very shallow water. It is a really beautiful island and when Pete has finished his course we plan to rent a motorbike and go explore, I am not sure I would be confident enough to do it by myself, especially seeing the crazy drivers on the roads.
I felt rather homesick last night and I though typical you are on a beautiful island chilling out and all you want is cloudy, cold England. Perhaps I upset myself by looking at the local boutique hotel, it was gorgeous and I wished I was staying there.
Anyway this morning I am much more positive and feel better about the shed we are staying in. Even though it is raining here this morning and I am not sure if it will clear up this afternoon, I am still having the most amazing time and am filling my time sat in a cafe drinking tea and eating a chocolate croissant.
I forgot the camera cable, so haven't uploaded any pictures, but will hopefully do it over the next few days. Love you everyone.
