Same picture again I am afraid as we haven't been able to upload our pictures yet. What an amazing day we had yesterday, after writing our blog we had a look around the shops and market stools and I managed to do some bargaining on a bracelet.
In the afternoon 10 of the group got a mini bus to a quieter part of the Li River where we got in our Kayaks and headed out, it was obvious from the start that we were not going to end up dry, as everytime you lifted the oar water splashed you. The scenary was fantastic and Pete was snapping away on the camera. That part of the river was so tranquil and I was glad we opted for the Kayak instead of the noisy bamboo rafted. We stopped roughly halfway at a waterside bar and dried off a little bit, before heading off again. By now everyones arms were slightly aching and the groups pace slowed down although we still had a front, middle and back group. The last 10 minutes seemed like forever, but after Kayaking for 2.5 hours we saw the end in sight.
It was great to experience the real Chinese countryside going passed farms and everyday people and getting on with their everyday lives. We caught the bus backl to Yangshuo and quickly showered as we were booked in for 'relaxing massages'. I think the massage itself you wouldn't call relaxing as at times it was uncomfortable if not painful and the painful bits they seemed to work on more. Hopefully though we will feel the benefit in a day or two.
We followed our massage with the local dish, beer fish. Once we had ordered it the waitress came over with a net and the fish moving inside and asked if that one was ok, having no idea what type of fish it was let alone what a good one looked like we nodded and hoped for the best. Luckily it was the best and it only had big bones, so no choking fits. The sauce was amazing and the fish so tender, so if anyone ever comes here, it is a must.
We headed to Lulu's afterwards as this is our groups hang out and I tried an Angels Kiss cocktail it was delicious, I am dissapointed I have only just discovered it seeing as that was our last night here.
I am currently sat in a cafe after having French toast and English tea, Pete is currently having a Kung Fu lesson, so hopefully in the next few days he can update you with that.
