Well after 2 days here we are excited to be getting on the ship. Our sleeping patterns have been shot, so for the last 2 days felt like hell.
Bought a bottle of gin $58 and its local rot gut. Charge $28 to put on my credit card. Flat fee. What do you do?
Sjuck it up and shell out.
Last night, i thought i needed to nail it, so lots of drugs, prescribed, then 1/4 BOTTLE gin . Done.
Tahiti is like Bali in 80's except no open sewers. I imagined to be like Hawaii. Pristine. No, lots ramshakle buildings. Downtown waterfront, stunning lawns plants etc but across the road. Pile concrete shops. All in disrepair.
I knew it was expensive but not prepared for $14 for one ham cheese toasted sandwich.
Ate street food as hotel meal cost half a gold bar. Taxi was $38, to get to downtown. Meal $61 then $41 taxi back to hotel.
Feeling a bit ripped off.
Hotel doesn't seem to get tha 60 couples staying here are leaving. Breakfast at 6 as we are being collected at 7. No yoghurt, no this that or much of anything. They just say no worries. Only english they know. French is their language and they expect everyone to speak it.
