Chilling out on Kande Beach mid way down lake Malawi - so hard to believe its a lake as you can't see anything in either direction and the waves lap on the beach just like a sea (call me stupid but I was suprised by this!!)

I helped to slaughter a pig last night - gross yes but good experience and helped with skinning during the ritual - we are roasting the poor chap this evening when we have a fancy dress party will tuck in!! ... for some reason the fancy dress is a tradition here and when we go to a local market they get out all these weird and wonderful costumes - they must think us Muzungu's really are something else .... I have a lovely flowery jumpsuit that I was provided (thanks sarah) and will be doing my best to make sure there are NO photos but im sure they will end up on facebook at some point .... im also proud to have made a tyre mankini for richard our driver - made in masai style using motobike tyres and inner tubing and some quality decoration ... it started as a bet and trust me i wasnt losing this one so after alot of begging and borrowing it was presented to him today ... well chuffed (not that my jumpsuit is much less flattering but thats life!)

Spent this afternoon with the local village witchdoctor - pretty sure it was a crock of sh*t ....this guy covered in flour giggled around his mud hut with me crammed in swaeting and adding to the aroma and he gave me some potions .... all good fun and the rest of the gang who were all too suspicious are now winding me up constantly saying im changing colour and growing limbs etc etc but im pretty sure im safe :) .... for now ..... offf to prep for party, have promised to sepnd the morning with local kids and balloons etc so need to rehydrate before the drinking starts!!!
