As noted in our Celebrity Today newsletter we dock in Helsinki Finland. Sunrise 4.27am sunset 10.09 pm - weather 3 - 17 c . arrive 10.00 am depart 6.00 pm . We took the shuttle bus to the city centre about 10 minutes from the dock . Wandered around the city , yet again a lot of old buildings and churches. Friendly people and we felt safe. Lunch in a local restaurant consisting of blue cheese soup ( tasty) crunchy fresh baked bread and a smorgasbord of rice, salads with meat and some kind of fish and a very tasty chicken Kiev/ schnitzel. All washed down with a local beer. Strolled to the markets by the water and tasted smoked reindeer rissole (interesting) and whitebait from the local venders . Back on the ship by 2 pm. Spent the afternoon watching the construction works at the dockside. Dinner in the main Moonlight Sonata Restaurant seated with an older English couple now living in Barbados.
