A week later we had met loads of lovely people around NZ all too happy to listen to our tales and tells us theirs. One guy had driven his camper the whole way down the mountainous and trecherous Haast Pass with no brakes!- honest and he seemed so sane but I guess that's what three years travelling does to a man!! Had a blast climbing the Fox Glacier with our Sherpa guide who had only climbed Everest the four times!! We got certificates and everything saying we were very good ice climbers - we loved it!! Have taken sooo many pictures it almost seems comical but it really is like walking around a picture post card - in the end just to save memory we rationed ourselves to just those shots that truelly were spectacular otherwise we'd have had a frame by frame reference guide to our journey!! (They are all in the On the road album now - after technical difficulties). The Lord of the Rings Sites were amazing (as everything is) but there is no real film stuff left it is just the scenery itself. Got to see down the river Anduin, and the pillars of the King, saw the ford at Bruinen and bit's of Lothlorien. Tried to get to a place called paradise where they shot Isengard and other stuff but the road was stictly 4 wheel drive and icy as hell! Managed to get the camper up it for about 3 miles before realising it just was'nt happening! Puzzling World was a hoot - got transfixed by toys in there but there you go. Off to Easter Island tomorrow - that should be a bit of a culture shock for us. Off to buy some Vit B tablets now to try and stave off the mossies cos we have found they love us like no others!!
