Peter and Caroline's Most Excellent Adventure!!!
When we landed in New Zealand we went to stay with relatives, we had never met and up till then Caroline had only spoken to them briefly on the phone. We were a little worried when we arrived. We knocked on the door and right away it was like staying at your grandparents. No worries, they are both lovely and made us feel right at home!
We were taken out on day trips to lake Tekapo, which is beautiful, up to Mt. Cook and the Hermitage. Clear a day as you could wish for, pity I forgot to charge the camera as it was like walking through a picture postcard, Oh well.
At Geraldine we went out for a roast sunday lunch - it's amazing the similarities to England!! There we saw the world's largest Jersey knitted by a bloke who has also made an exact replica of the Bayeaux (spelling??) Tapestry(how rock and roll is that!). We went out to visit friends of Gladys and Ken and met a lovely women called Annette who made us homemade pikelets and introduced us to all sorts of unusual New Zealand fayre that she had grown on her homestead - Lovely!
Then having recharged the camera and our own batteries we hit the road like two nutters lost in a foreign country!!
