Yes well we thought we would get away from the madness of Hollywood by spending a bit of time at the beach. Who knew it would be 100% more fruitloop than Hollywood!! When we eventually find somewhere that will let us use our usb cable the photos will illustrate the case better we think. Anyway we stayed in a hostel by the beach and Caroline ended up being bitten to death! Combine that with there being pretty much absolutely nothing to do here apart from avoid the nut jobs we only ended up staying here for a couple of days. Boredom and insects what a combination! There were some highlights though. We hired a couple of bikes and did the whole promenade thing which was a lot of fun. It was also Columbus day whilst we were there so there were more street performers than usual which sounds promising but good ones were few and far between. We watched the locals fishing and saw seals and pelicans which was ace. Muscle beach however was just downright sad and a bit grotesque - felt like care in the community gone wrong. Generally it was expensive and full of wannabes who would never be. The amount of so called artists that were in our hostel was quite staggering. I would say I tried to get on their level but even i know that I could never get my head that far up my own arse. Believe me these people needed glass stomachs to see where they were going. Before I pack this entry up though must just make mention of Maos - the best chinese restaurant ever ever ever and in a material world like Venice Beach surprisingly good value! Anyway we packed up our nap sacks, put some flowers in our hair and now we're heading to San Francisco.......
