Sail Croatia- Saturday 13th August to Saturday 20th August
We arrived at the port Saturday morning and checked in on our boat. We are in room 18, it's a triple room with a double bed and a single bed on top. Once everyone arrived on the boat we had a welcoming meeting and a welcoming drink and then had lunch. It wasn't long before I made heaps of new friends, I get along well with everyone on this boat but two smaller groups inparticularly. One group is from Sydney, there is 8 of them 5 guys and 3 girls. The other group is from Melbourne, there is 7 of them, 2 girls and 5 guys. The first day we all went to the beach together and had a swim and then that night we decided all to have dinner and drinks together to get to know each other. We played cards and drinking games and had a really good night. The next day we all just laid on the top of the boat and sunbaked, chatted, listened to music and jumped off the top deck into the water. It's a 7 meter jump from the top. I was so scared to do it, but was egged on by everyone to jump so I did. Sunday night I went to dinner with the group from Melbourne. We went to a wood fire pizzeria. Then me and the two groups went to a bar for drinks and then to a club. We got home at around 5am and had an awesome night. Monday we all just relaxed again on the top of the boat. The atmosphere here is unreal and I am having the best time. Monday night we arrived in Hvar and all went out again, first the Sydney group, a few others and I went to dinner together and then to a small bar. I bumped into two guys I met at Mykonos there. Then we went to a club on a separate island and you had to catch a water taxi there and back. Again we had a great night and didn't get in till 7am. Everyday day between islands/towns we stop in the middle of the ocean for a swim. Most of the people jump off the top deck. We have got some great photos of group jumps and I have a photo of Matt doing a back flip from the very top. Matt is the only one who has done flips and Buck did a dive from the top deck also. Once we are in the water we all hang out on the blow up beds and chat and float about. Tuesday we stopped at a quiet town. I went to dinner with the sydney group and a few others and then we had ice cream on the walk home. After ice cream we all went to a pub, but not to drink. The pub had free wifi so we all checked our facebooks then went to bed. Wednesday day we did the usual, relax. Wednesday night we had a cheap dinner at a burger place and then went to a bar for drinks. We had another party night and it was also Katrina's birthday from the Melbourne group so we celebrated that. Thursday I put my name down for a excursion along with the some of the Sydney group and two other girls from another Sail Croatia boat. We did scuba diving. The boat picked us up from our boat and took us to a beach. We went through demonstrations and then geared up to go for a dive. We were all first timers except for Mick who has a diving certificate. I was scared to dive and nearly pulled out but the instructor calmed me down and made me go. The dive was brilliant, there wasn't much to see but it was still good. Thursday night was the "Rave in the Cave" night and it was a theme night also. Our theme was beach/fluro. We all wore floaties and goggles. Some people wore swimming caps, Jenna dressed up as a shark, Carly was a frog and the boys cut up the blow up beds and wore them. We all looked ridiculous but good at the same time. We have some great photos of this night. The rave cave was so hot and sweaty that at the end of the night we all went out side and jumped in the sea with our floaties and clothes on before heading home. I have had some great laughs and good times. Sail Croatia has been amazing. On Friday some people went to Bosnia for a day trip and others went white water rafting. The Sydney group, Clint, Lauren and I were the only ones left on the boat. In the morning I went on a tube ride with the girls behind the boat. We had so much fun and were laughing the whole way round. I fell off twice, Jenna and Carly fell off once and Hayley stayed on the whole time. After tubing we had lunch and then kept sailing. We sailed to the Captain's house and they he invited us over. He lives with his parents and they own 3 sail Croatia boats. The Captain is 24 and his younger sister also work on the boat in the dining room. We swam over to their house and met his mum. She bought out drinks and cakes for us and we all chatted for a bit. They live right on the water in a 3 story mansion, it was very nice. We then swam back to the boat and sailed to out final destination, Split. We decided to have our last dinner together (with the Sydney group) then headed to the beach front bars for a few drinks. Saturday morning at 9am was time to leave, it was a little sad saying good bye but easier for me as I will see them all again in 10 nights. Overall sail Croatia was awesome, the best week of my trip so far.
