Today, we had a semi-relaxing day. In the morning, we drove to downtown Loreto. I was disappointed with the shopping, because all the dresses I tried on were made for shorter and smaller people.
Later that day, we went for dinner at the coolest Mexican restaurant called "Fonda Cadipole". It did not have the restaurant feel; it felt as if we were in someone's home. From nearly our whole culinary experience, we had the restaurant to ourselves. Sophia, our cook put so much love into her food. Before she prepared our meal, she brought the ingredients for us to smell and touch. We had Chile's en Nogada, which is a stuffed Pompano Chili. The stuffing consists of shredded meat, fruit and spices, including the pomegranates, which Heather and I helped Sophia prepare. The chilies were then drizzled with a walnut sauce that contains pear milk, local cheese and corolla peaches.
Oh my god, it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Near the end of our meal, a couple came into the restaurant. After talking to them for a minute, we found out they are from Quesnel! We all thought that it was unreal for us to be at the same tiny, hidden gem of a restaurant in a small Mexican town.
