Getting ready for 4th camping trip. This one is more of a 'travel trip', where our main purpose is to visit with my sister and her family and the camper is more of a 'motel.' Day 3--packed up and back home. Got my fire last night...nothing like a fire to lower my blood pressure (as long as it is contained and in a fire ring.) Woke up freezing this morning; took a while to figure out how to work the furnace, but when we finally did, it was great. Shut down only took about 1/2 hours. Getting ready for the trip tomorrow. Took forever to get the mattress put in and the bed made. Because our driveway is unlevel (very much so), it was impossible to level out the camper, so no way to get the water tank to fill properly. While trying to 'level' out the camper, I managed to back the darned camper into the house and put a serious crease (the size of the ladder on the camper) in our gutter on the front porch. We are back. Though the weather sucked, we were able to check out some campgrounds and found one we especially like...Foothills RV Park, just at the foot of the mountain. What an awesome place the Smoky Mountains are! Weather looks good for next weekend!!! Just hope it doesn't change for the worse.

I guess you could say this is cheating, but we are leaving for Gatlinburg, TN, tomorrow morning in our vehicle...no camper...and staying in a bungalow. Our son and his wife are going with us. She is 5 months pregnant and the camper would not be comfortable for her. So we will be staying in town in a two bedroom bungalow. Could this count for camping? Probably not, but I decided to include all of my 'potential' trips as well. Galtinburg is one of my favorite...
