Singapore
It's been about three years since we were here last and what changes we have noticed in Singapore. Familiar places don't look so familiar anymore as new and extraordinary buildings rise up where local open air food courts once stood. Even the satay stalls at Clarke Quay are now gone replaced by shiny new restaurants with neon lights and fancy tables and chairs. Not the same at all, and we were disappointed that one of our highly anticipated meals out did not eventuate.
We broke our journey to stay a couple of days in Singapore. This not only gives us the opportunity to do a bit of serious shopping, but also means we can take daylight flights in each sector. This should reduce the jet lag when we reach the UK. Tell you if it works later!
