And we’re on the move!
After so long being in the same place because of COVID and then buying a house, we are finally hitting the road again and it’s a great feeling.
The completion date of our house purchase got put back a few days to 4th September so we only had a couple of hours that afternoon to do the final inspection and enjoy some time there. Inspection done, we cracked open a couple of bottles of bubbly and a few beers with family before we had to pull the door shut behind us on our way out. Our tenants moved in the next day and we wish them well, hoping they enjoy our newly renovated property.
We have spent the last couple of days saying our goodbyes to friends and family. We even managed to see Dorothy and Jan for lunch yesterday after saying goodbye to mum. We couldn’t do that for a while because of the COVID restrictions at Raffles, mum’s aged care home. If we had been over the border to the Gold Coast (now a COVID hot spot) I couldn’t go to see mum for 14 days.
In many ways it has been good staying so long in the area. We have had lots of family time and had plenty of “sleep overs” with the girls. We’ve enjoyed the facilities of the park but we are both now excited about getting back out there, doing what we love best. Travelling this beautiful country and enjoying the relaxed lifestyle. Not having to rush anywhere, making vague plans that sometimes change, seeing interesting places and meeting great people.
We can’t leave NSW because of restrictions but there’s still a lot out there for us to see and hopefully this COVID business doesn’t put the locals off visitors coming through, enjoying their towns. We are now on the road heading out to Lightning Ridge where we have tried to get to twice before. We’re determined to get there this time, third time lucky!
Life is good. (So very good!)
