We woke up pretty hungry today in Fort Smith, Arkansas so we headed over to the local McDonald's. This place was filled with the "town folk"….lol. They looked exactly how you would expect, hilarious! As we were leaving the McDonalds/Gas Station combo I noticed two great things you don't find at home: 1. They have Coca-Cola in glass bottles and 2. Right next to the coffee and tea station they have a wide selection of tall-boy beers on display and in a cooler of ice, ready for you to grab on your way out the door! I was tempted you pick up 24 oz Bud Ice but opted for the more legal choice, a good-ole glass bottle of Coke. We left Arkansas and drove right on through the rolling plains of Oklahoma. We decided to stop at the Cherokee Indian Trading Post, where I bought a kick ass pair of genuine moccasins! Brittany bought an array of shot glasses and jewelry. After the trading post we hit the road and made our way to the Rt. 66 Museum. A pretty interesting place that looks at the original Rt. 66 and its effect on American culture. We hopped back in the car and made it to our final destination, Amarillo, Texas. We when arrived at the hotel we were told that we could take free limousine to a local restaurant call the famous Big Texan. Little did we know the limo would have a set of horns on the front and our driver would be sporting a cowboy hat. This restaurant was a goodtime. They have a small platform with a timer on it, and if you want you can attempt to eat a 72 oz steak, a baked potato, a salad and a roll in under one hour...Your meal is free. There were three guys up there attempting it when we arrived, but none of them succeeded. We were told that the record for eating the meal was done in 9 mins by a former MLB player. I ate an 8oz steak and was stuffed, I can't imagine eat 72 ounces, which btw was the size of a dinner plate!! We are now back at the hotel and Brittany just opened our bedside drawer and discovered a large bottle of KY warming liquid and a small bottle of something called, "Passion Ready to Go". LOL I hope they cleaned the sheets. Off to sleep in BIG Texas…
