Namaste guys
Goa is a pretty cool place, it has a lot of characteristics of the rest of India but has a big western influence at the same time.
Me and Vic are having great time...our hotel is a 5 min walk to the beach where all the beach shacks are serving food and drinks. Our beach is a lot more chilled than the others so its cool to relax there duringh the day and go to another for beach drinks of a nigth. The water is really warm to swim in and really wavy.
We have also explored other parts of Goa sinxce we've been ere and headed up to Mandrem beach (spose to be best in Goa) to relax in a beach hut for a couple of nights. Really nice to be away from all the hawkers you egt on all the other beaches.
Afetr that we decidied to treat ourselves to to 5 star hotel for 3 nigths. It's in South Goa and is the most amzing setting. Its created as a portugues village (like the old imperial days of Goa) and has interlinking pools under bridges. They had everything, jacuzzi, steam room and the full 5 star treatment from the people serving you when your lounging by the pool. We treated ourselves to a much needed ( well on my behalf after all that trekking!!!) full body massage. We chose our music and went into a couple suite for the best professional massage (ok only!!) I've ever had.
We've just got back from there and now have a week and half to relax some more and party on the beaches. We are gona head to Paradiso beach club in Anjuna where all the big DJs play every year...
We are pretty brown at the mo...the weather has been really hot since I got here.
The Anjuna flea market is an amazin, held every wednesday, you get relentessly oulled into every tent to buy their things. Cires of you break my smal;l heart or you insult me when you haggle are common pplace hahah. You could spend a lot of moeny there, but its all abotu getting it back, considering binning some of stuff in my bag.
We are gona visit a spice planatation next wek and wash and ride an elepahant for the complete Inida experience haha
The whole terrosist attack thing in Mumbai has unsettled us a little, but things seem to have settled down a bit. Obviously Goa could be a target if they are after Westerners, but things seem to ok, haven't seen a surge in the police or army patrolling.
After Goa, I've gotta head through Mumbai on my way back up to Delhi. I'm only there one night so can't see it being a prob when I pass through. I was initally gonna fly after the attacks, but all they ahve left direct to Delhi are the cheap airlines and to be honest thats probably more dangerous than getting the train. Incidently I'll be using that train station that got attacked to get my train to delhi. After all thats happended in India and Nepal I'm not that concerned anymore and believe you've just gotta get on with things.
Anyhow...all is good and well.
See you guys soon
Pete & Vic
