...it's beautiful and sunny and I am really grateful for this after the recent rains
...I discover Christchurch is NZ's second city to have Uber, after Auckland of course
...I notice the existence of interesting sounding brands of home appliances here, which I assume must be local: Westinghouse, Parmco, RobinHood, Omega, Fisher&Paykel...
...I eat my next to last cooked NZ breakfast at a great little place called Brigitte's
...taking advantage of great weather I take a ride on a cable car to a nearby mountain. The attraction is called Gondola. From the hill there are amazing views of the harbor, the city and the mountains, plus a big gift shop and a strange multimedia ride called Time Tunnel, which recounts the history of New Zealand in 6 minutes. Wow.
...based on multimedia exhibits I also learn a few interesting facts about Abel Tasman, the first European to set his eyes on New Zealand, and about how to use the Southern Cross to find south
...the wind is fierce so I ride down and head to the beach for some chilling where I walk on a nice long pier, observing fishermen and seagulls trying to steal their catch...
...I finally find a Mexican restaurant that's open and the meal is really nice.
...I book a bed and breakfast for the last night, it's run by a genial guy called Jerry, who rents out rooms in his house. Seeing the homosexually themed art everywhere on his walls, I don't ask him where is the missus :)
...I spend my last night watching cartoons and drinking beer. Ready for the trip back!
