...I wake up with an aching back and drive off hunting for breakfast.
...I notice a great many cats and other small animals killed on the road. There was literally one roadkill every 15 minutes as I drove.
...I realize New Zealand seems like a very old school destination. Rental cars seem old, roads seem quite old and music on the radio is vintage too, which I love. All in all a very relaxing, laid back, nostalgic travel place, like a trip back in time. Also: Hibiscus coast? What a cute name!
...I pass through Auckland on my way back, take some gas and realize that despite the right hand traffic here and despite the right hand traffic in Japan (I'm driving a Nissan), the tank inlet is actually on the right hand side of the car. I don't know why. Perhaps I'll never figure it out.
...during shopping the checkout girl gives me back one of my coins saying it's an Aussie dollar, not a kiwi one. Indeed. And here I am, never in my life having visited Australia. Go figure.
...I love little mailboxes in front of people's homes - I observe them as I drive by, The variety of colors and patterns is mind blowing.
...I arrive at the tip of Coromandel peninsula, a famous local summer destination. It's crowded as hell so I pitch my tent in a campsite to avoid paying €100 for a night in a trailer.
...I visit the amazing and famous Cathedral Cove.
