A nice sunny but windy day greeted us.
We had a very pleasant 2 and a bit hour drive to lovely Smoky Bay. The caravan park is great and at only $9.00/night is a bargain. We only had $11.75 so it's a good thing! Kimbo decided it was an excellent spot for fishing, so fish we did. He was out there for nearly 4 hours and only caught trumpeters - they all had to be thrown back. I caught about 5 - the huge one truly got away - the locals assure me it was a king fish. I don't know what it was but it went beserk - ever mind the rest were trumpeters and of no use to us. All in all it was a very peaceful day. I don't think we'll ever catch a meal of fish. This is a really lovely place for a relaxing holiday. Another oyster producing area albeit it it's infant stages and probably the most remote. It has a huge jetty which we really should have explored but didn't. A population probably of about 200.
We'll be off again tomorrow Cactus bound.
