We're off after stocking up the cupboards, filling up the bus gas tank and picking up our mail we had Coffin Bay in our sights. Our phone is back in Adelaide and it should be in Port Lincoln either tomorrow or Friday. The trip only took about 3/4 hour so not a big day so won't take long to go back and pick up the phone. A lovely park with again a very friendly manager.
We went for a drive out to the National Park and saw a couple that we'd met up with in Port Lincoln. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more of them and I'm not sure that's a great thing! Lots of 4WD only tracks here so we couldn't go as far as we wanted......wouldn't want to get bogged. There are lots of little islands around and if the weather was better it would probably be quite nice to go out in a tinny..........I can't believe I just said that! Huge oyster farm, what a shame we don't eat oysters. I know a lot of people would kill for freshly shucked Coffin Bay oysters.
We need to see what the weather's going to do before we decide what we'll do. If it's good maybe a little bike riding will be nice. Had a thunderstorm during the night.
Thursday again.........wow how quickly the days pass. I caught a fish today but I had to throw it back because it's too small!!!! Probably a good thing as it lives another day. The phone's back in Port Lincoln so we'll collect it tomorrow.
We went for another drive as the weather still isn't doing the right thing. We drove along the coast to Greenly Beach which is just beautiful, Farm beach which is full of tractors for fishers to get their boats over the mountains of seaweed and at the southern end Gallipoli Beach where the battle scenes for the movie Gallipoli were set. Nothing remains there anymore apart from nature itself but having been to Anzac Cove in Turkey the likeness was obvious. We drove back to Dutton Bay where Kimbo caught 4 fish - 3 kept and 1 thrown back (+ mine) so we were able to have a nice fish entree. He thought they might have been salmon trout. They were damn nice no matter what they were.
Friday and it's back to Port Lincoln to pick up the phone. I also went to see a doctor who confirmed that I'm hyperthyroid again and he suggested we get to Perth within the next 2-3 weeks as he's referred me to a surgeon..........gulp this sounds serious now. I had some blood tests and will know the results next week. Now this wasn't something we'd factored into our trip but I guess there's nothing much I can do. Either continue or go back to Adelaide............no choice really.
On a much brighter note we picked up the phone and dodged a storm. When we got back to Coffin Bay Kimbo made some window locks and we tidied up for our leave tomorrow. It was very humid.
