I don't recall feeling this excited and with such a great sense of anticipation.
Finally after 12 months of blissful hard work, sweat and tears our dream machine is finally ready to venture into the great unknown. To see what we’ve produced has made all those
late nights after work, and weekends of designing, re-designing, grinding, nibbling (especially when the first hole was cut in the roof) welding, painting, fixing, buying stuff, installing, modifying and watching it all come together so rewarding. We’re so bloody proud of ourselves! Passing up so many social invitations over the time has been well worth it.
Everything that has to be done has been.
Finished work ……..check!
Sold cars……..check!
Rented house…….check!
Organised houseboat……..check!
Car phone installed.….check!
Farewell parties and dinners……..check, check, check and more checks!!!
Maggie……well she’s more than happy to continue going to work
and now live with Craig and Jule’s in their salubrious residence....check!
We now officially are of no fixed address and it feels fantastic. I still can’t understand why
some friends think what we’re doing is foolhardy, risky and even bordering on ridiculous. We have no doubt in our minds that we will have no trouble finding work and that the journey, for
however long it takes will be life changing. We could stay at home and do the same old thing, day in, day out but life is too short for that. I'm not afraid of the unknown. All will be well.
With Bet and Stu away we’ve used their driveway for the last few nights to park the bus and tonight will be no different.
We took Craig out for dinner as Jules is away and he’s been such a help allowing us to keep the bus in the workshop and trying to keep out of his and Kevin’s way while he continues to run Newport Motors. I even had a little sook when we bade him farewell.
Tomorrow can’t come quick enough, now all I need to do is go to sleep!
Bring it on!!!
