Our day began with and overcast sky but perfect weather for strolling around the magnificent Butchart Gardens. The area that the gardens are built was once a limestone quarry which was Jennie Butchart's husbands business from 1902 when the quarry closed in 1914 they were left with a huge empty hole in the ground at their backdoor so she began with a vision and a passion for gardening and set about landscaping the area into a sunken garden transforming it in...

A fairly civilized hour for our departure this morning with a morning stop at a beautiful waterfall along the way before we arrived at Horseshoe Bay where we catch the B.C Ferry across to Vancouver Island.
