Hello, hope you all like the pics we had so many to choose from as we have been snap happy. After the nightmare bus journey we spent 2 nights in Vientiane chilling out the town wasn't that great but there was some cool bars especially one called 'Full Moon Cafe' we ate there 3 times and as it was happy hour 5-7 we managed to squeeze in 6 pitchers of beer. The next day we got on another bus, all feeling a little on the hungover side but this journey was only 5 hours and it had AC so not too bad. We arrived in Vang Vieng in the dark so it wasn't til we woke up the next day we realised how amazing the place was. Our hotel was right next to the river which runs along side the mountains next to the town, our room has a balcony which actually goes out over the river, all for 3 pound a night!! The town is full of travellers and the place has a real chilled out atmosphere probabaly something to do with the amount of drugs thats offered ,lots of happy and special food and drinks on the menus. The restaurants don't have tables and chairs they have beds with a small table in centre and loads of cushions. They show movies, friends and simpsons all day so we have so far done alot of lounging around, eating and watching movies what more could you ask for. We did manage to squeeze a bit of exercise in, yesterday we went Tubing, basically we were given a rubber ring and dropped off at the side of the river we were all very unsure of what to expect but just jumped in and floated down stream. We soon realised what the main point of the journey down the river was....getting drunk of course. About every 100meteres there were bars built out of bamboo on the river bank so like you do back home ona pub crawl you stop off for a beer, little did we know there was loads of bars along the way and after the 3rd 4th bar we were all struggling to get back into the rubber ring on the water. I know it doesn't sound like a safe combination at all but it was loads of fun and we were loving it. There was also rope swings across the river bit like circus ones where you grab hold of the bars with you hands swing across but we let go and dropped into the water. We all had a go but me and beth took a bit longer than burts to build up courage, he was straight up the ladder. Met loads of people along the way and a group of us all went out for dinner last night. Had a traditional Lao massage today which was slightly painful but feel like Mr & Mrs Softie now its great. Getting on another bus tomorrow morning, can't wait we love Buses!!!
