Craig & Jills Round the World Trip
We are back at James & Emmas house in Upland, which is 40 miles from downtown LA. We have largely been relaxing and enjoying the california sunshine. One day we drove into LA, and went to have a closer look at Hollywood sign, then for a walk along Hollywood Blvd. This is where the streets are lined with the avenue of stars, far too many to walk the full length. We also saw all the famous hand and footprints in front of manns chinese theatre. It was bizarre to see some of the really old ones like Marilyn Monroe, Clark gable, etc. Next we bought a map of where all the famous peoples homes are. We headed to Beverley Hills, bizarre, going from a scruffy looking Hollywood to the immaculate tree lined streets, and huge houses. You couldn't see alot of the houses where famous people lived, as these quite often had big gates and hedges around, however it was nice to see how the other half live. We drove past Madonnas, George Michaels, Brad pitts, Ozbournes, Danny Devito, plus some we hadn't heard of. Next stop Rodeo drive, to see all the flash shops and numerous rolls royce parked up outside.
While here we also got to enjoy an american Halloween. It was great to see all the houses decorated.
On Friday night we became famous. James had managed to get us on the audience for an american live tv show - Foxs Friday night Football, basically a talk show about football, mainly english premier league. Its set in a bar, which to Craig & James dissapointment wasn't real, so only empty bottles of beer. Spent an hour sat behind the presenters, pretending we were enjoying the drinks in the bar. James got a speaking role and was able to ask a question about West Ham. Jill got the prime seat behind the presenters shoulder for an hour, where she proudly sat in her Wednesday shirt. Gave us all a good laugh when we wathced it when we got home.
Other than that just been catching up on some football, sleep and beer. Also been playing poker till the early hours. Jill Hustler Burns is currently chip leader. to be continued, Mexico next
