Craig & Jills Round the World Trip
Today we left Washington for Baltimore. Had a great time in DC, although a bit too hot, 90 degress and no clouds in site. Did all the main sites including the white house, lincoln memorial, capitol hill, vietnam war memorial, up the washington monument for great views across city. Washington was like another world compared to NY. All very green, clean and calm. Lovely big old buildings, and everything free to get in. Very nice just missing some atmosphere. The people all looked like robots, no personalities. Also went to arlington cemetary to see JFKs grave, and the tomb of unknown soldier, very humbling experience see gravestones disappear into the distance.
Went round Holocaust museum and the Bureau of Engraving and printing to see all the US dollars getting printed off. Went to the Pentagon but not for long, not allowed to get near it or take a photo anywhere near it either! The Park Rangers seem to have had a humour bypass! Every where we went in we had to listen to the regulations.
Spending the night in Baltimore before heading up to Philadelphia. Staying in the Radisson like true travellers! Keep all the great messages coming, its really lovely to read them all.
