Our final full day in Vietnam before we move onto Hong Kong tomorrow. We decided to spend the day chilling in the hostel we were staying at which was really nice, Lily’s Hostel, next door to the tourist office we booked through -Lily’s travel. We spent the morning with Baz, who we had met during the Halong bay tour. I also spent a good part of the day scouting Hanoi for a North Face coat and some presents. Later in the afternoon, we walked to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and to the other main sights in Hanoi. We walked for what felt like hours until we decided to find a little coffee shop. We were desperate to try Vietnam’s famous egg coffee. On finding a nice looking cafe that sold this type of coffee, we sat down just as it was starting to get dark. The coffee was strong but flavoursome, and the egg was whisked egg whites so was actually quite creamy which made the coffee quite delicious.
We spent that night organising ourselves for the next flight. I met a girl from England in our hostel room who was a nurse, so we ended up chatting for ages and putting the world to right. What an incredible time Vietnam had provided for us! It is probably one of my favourite places in South East Asia, and it’s been so easy to travel. I would definitely want to return in the future and would recommend it to anyone of any age! But for now, we are moving onto our next and final stop…Hong Kong!
