Our plan for today was to organise and book up some activities for the rest of our trip. Our next location was the Philippines and although we had already planned what we wanted to see, we thought we would start booking some things in preparation.
We spent most of the morning on the internet. Then around midday we caught a bus into Nadi town as Matt was keen to buy a Fijian vest top. We looked around pretty much every clothes shop before finding a great vest in 'Jack's'. We had lunch in one of the western cafes before heading back to the hostel for the afternoon of more planning. I had also received an email from Apollo with both good and bad news. Firstly, we had been given a speeding fine in New Zealand from the camper which was a pain, but then Apollo management had sent through 350 NZD of compensation for the hassle we received in Christchurch on collecting the Campervan... result!
That evening, we said our goodbyes to Naomi who we had been travelling with for just over a week now so we would be sad to leave her but also excited to be moving onto the next adventure!
We were flying with Fiji Air to Manila stopping at Singapore. On booking the flight, I didn't realise that we had to swap airlines to Jetstar from Singapore to Manila. We only had an hour and 20 minutes transit time! Jetstar check in desk closed an hour before departure meaning we only had 20 minutes in which we had to get off the aircraft, get through immigration and pick up our luggage before getting to the check in desk on time! I was stressed to say the least! I've booked all of the flights and accommodation so far on the trip and I'm usually really organised but I was worried I'd messed up this time! After a pleasant 10 hour flight but with possibly the worst aeroplane food I've honestly ever had, we landed in Singapore and on time! We pushed passed everyone to get off the plane and legged it to immigration where we were the first through. Our luggage was the first to come out, then we ran to the check in desk and luckily made it with 5 minutes to spare! Lesson learnt!
Through security and with 30 minutes until our gate opened, we grabbed a Starbucks and I FaceTimed Lou and Nia back home. Seeing their faces made me miss them so much! We had a quick catch up before I had to board the last leg of our journey! Manila here we come!
