Today is Wenesday. Its May 1 so a bank holiday (part of Golden Week) and so evrywhere is very busy!
We had booked to go to the Skytree viewing tower. Having done some homework yesterday, we navigated the metro with aplomb and even arrived early. The first viewing platform was at 350m up and we were about at cloud level bur it did clear from time to time so we did get some reasonable views. They would have been better yesterday! However, the next level at 450m ( roughly twice as high as the Shard in London) was pretty much in the cloud!
As we left it was starting to drizzle and we caught another train to the Nezu Shrine where we knew there would be a lot of azaleas. Unfortunately the rain had come on much heavier and we were probably about a week too late.Hey ho! Due to therather adverse weather, we amended our plans and decided against going to see the giant buddha, opting instead for an art installation. Again, regrettably, it was now officially lashing down. And all the day’s tickets had been sold. Plan C was to take the monorail and work our way back to the hotel, pausing for a pizza and recceing our route for tomorrow (with the help of tourist information) when we are off to catch our ship in Yokohama.
