Well it has been awhile since we entered anything- been busy.Went out on a fishing charter. Talk about an experience- the seas were heavy 8-10 foot swells that kept the boat a rockin. 5 out of six of us were sick, some worse than others but we all got our limit of fish. Well another day of adventure. Went to Homer today- right to the end of the spit- a narrow strip of land that juts out into the Cook inlet. Very touristy, fishing area with lots of charter fishing and shops of course. This is the halibut capitol of the world. We decided to bite the bullet and go out on a charter next week, but of course forgot to ask about Canadian customs so will have to check it out tomorrow to see if we can bring the fish home and what we are ...

Two great days spent in Seward. Hiked to Exit glacier and spent enjoyable time learning about the glaciers and their behavior. Lots of them around here. Evening spent on the wharf- wow can they haul in the big ones. Huge 210lb halibut, monster ling cod (my they are ugly!!) but I guess very good eating- lots of salmon and rock fish. Here in Soldotna- more people and nicer weather. Finally some sun. Bruce has been out fishing- caught one the first time out but not since. Will keep on trying. Some folks are pulling out huge salmon. RV park is nice, but very few people here. I think we came a little late in the season. If you are really after the fish you need to be here in June and July. Busy day today- we aren't too impressed with Anchorage, so drove today (just in the truck) to Whittier which is a tiny fishing village that has ferry service and cruise ship service but not much else. We had to go through a one way tunnel- 2.5 miles that has a strict schedule as vehicle traffic have to share with the railway. Quite interesting.
