Washington was so hot I nearly died. Maia being her normal self was moaning about the heat. When we arrived there were people opening doors, carrying my luggage and helping me out the car. I felt like I was royal. Obviously, they just wanted a tip, as mum pointed out, when me and maia thought that they had mistaken us for princesses. Which isn't hard to do! When we finally found the right room, we opened it up and there was an echo of "wows!". The room was gigantic. We made the room a mess in 5 minutes. Mum was running round saying "why can't we have a tidy room for once!" When we found out What to do we headed off.
Next stop was the White House which was very white and the Washington monument. On our way we had moans and guess who it was? We had to stop for water. When we got there, there was a sprinkler and me and Maia ran through them and got soaked. After about 5 minutes we were sweating hot and really dry. After the monument we set off to the museums. I was excited now, because the museums that they used for night time at the museum were there.
We were all so tired as it was so hot but we still had so much to see. We got a cab to the Lincoln Memorial only a ten minute walk but none of us could do it. We set off along the river but Maia refused to walk another step and collapsed under a tree causing people to pull over to see if we were okay. We did eventually get a cab back to the hotel and thank goodness for air conditioning. After persuading Maia to leave the room we all went out for dinner at a Mexican which was lovely. Mum and dad shared a Texas size cocktail. Tomorrow we are off to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, we are going horse riding and kayaking. Mum is scared of the heights we are very excited. It was 100 degrees in Washinton phew!!!!
