Long time between posts! It does depend very much on WI-fi access, and that has only just been achieved. This picture is of the Clifton Suspension bridge designed by Isambard Brunel and completed after his death. I wanted to go to Bristol because there are many family connections - Abbotts were born here and Bartons lived here. Found the place where Ambrose Abbott was born, and as Bartons lived in Clifton, I know where that is now too!
Bristol was really interesting and enjoyable. Very large and spread out, and as it was a sunny day, the harbour regions had a very convivial air - sea scouts trying to pass their boating proficiency exercises, People strolling around, having lunch.....really lovely. And I wasn't expecting it to be so delightful, had visions of a grim post industrial place, but nothing like.
Last visit in Wales today - we think- and on to the Lakes tomorrow. Time is flying.

Shaz Jones I lived in Bristol for almost 2 years ... and loved it! My fave church and pub were both in Clifton :-) Loved the Lakes district too - freezing though - so lots of sitting by the fire after long walks - although it was winter when I went there so it'll be interesting to see what you think during the Summer.
