The drive into Donnelly was a real relief as Chris and I were getting the car crazy's pretty bad. Just about the whole way down there was something to see. Leaving Washington there were snow capped mountains and lakes, and then getting into Idaho, there were these huge open fields of wheat (I think), and yellow flowers and stuff. I know it doesn't sound very exciting, but it was pretty cool to see.
When we got into town we met Sara at the Stinker, which is the name of the petrol station they've got here. Its even got a skunk as a logo. Nice. The surounding area is so beautiful. Basically every direction you look there are these snow capped mountains, and then theres these lakes around as well which look amazing. There's a resort called the Tamarak Resort, and thats where Sara works. It's busy being built up right now, but when its done, it's gonna be one hell of a place to visit.
Yesterday me and Chris played a little disc golf on the new course they had at the resort. It's all in the middle of the woods, but its a pretty fun course to play. We played the 18 basket course twice before heading over to get some sandwhich ingredients at the supermarket. From that we now have 10 delicious looking sandwhiches which should last us a few days.
After all that, and after Eric and Sara had got off work, we headed to these hot springs about half an hour out of town. We had heard a bit about them, and were pretty keen to test em out. Being that it's a little brisk outside here in the evenings (apparently the day before we arrive there was 3 inches of snow), the hot springs really hit the spot. We chilled out there for a good ole' while getting all wrinkley, but most importantly, relaxed and warm.
It seems that everywhere we stay, our host are always super helpful, and cool. Eric and Sara were no exception. They really opened up their house to us, and helped us out with things to do around town. Donnelly's a nice little place to stay, but I think with this resort going up, it aint gonna stay that little for very long.
