We woke up after an ok nights sleep it was a little strange to sleep in a room with so many other people. Breakfast was served until 10.30am so we got up had cereal and toast and went back to our bunk. One thing we wanted to do today was to go to Singapore zoo we'd read it can take all day to look around properly so we had showers and set off. We got the MRT as far as we could then was planning on getting public bus the rest of the way. But just as we went through the way out barriers a guy asked us if we were going to the zoo. He said he had a minibus waiting to go now if we wanted to go and we buy the tickets through him, we went with it. The tickets were $27 each and the minibus journey took a good 45 minutes. When we got there we looked at price of tickets, it was $22 ticket only and $5 extra for unlimited tram rides. So we essentially got free minibus as our tickets had tram included, plus we didn't have to queue to get in either.
We went straight in, the place is absolutely beautiful with huge plants all over. There are animals to see the second you walk in, it's a open zoo with no cages, just a few fences here and there. The orangutans were living freely in trees and play houses built over the middle of the zoo! One of our favourites had to be seeing the polar bear swimming, he was huge! The zoo was enormous, we got there at 1.00pm ish and left around 5.00pm. We got the tram the whole journey round. It started to rain around 5.00pm and were just about finished anyway. We had thought about going to the night safari right next door to the zoo. It was expensive and raining now so decided against it, the zoo had been awesome enough on it's own. We got the bus back to the tube then tube back to little India, we
stopped off at the same Indian restaurant as last night but had food this time it was really good. We then just wandered back to the hostel.
