After one of the longest sleeps we've had in a long time we were woken by a maid wanting to clean the room, it was 11.00am! By the time we'd had showers and got a bag together it was around 1.00pm. We asked the guy downstairs if he could recommend anywhere we could get breakfast even though we're so late. He said he knew just the place, Lori's Diner only two blocks away and even gave us a 20% discount voucher to use. We walked and found it, from the outside it looks pretty small but from the inside it was huge, it even had a full sized American car in there. The diner looked exactly what you think of when you say American diner. We got breakfast, I got omelette and James got bacon, egg and sausage. What James hadn't realised was that the whole thing came on two enormous pancakes, oh yeah and not forgetting the maple syrup. Absolutely stuffed again but so pleased as that was so good. We headed out and went across the street to a supermarket which sells travel passes. We got a pass which would allow us to travel on cable cars and the buses for the whole of today for $14 each. We queued for the cable car just outside the shop we'd bought the passes from. Each cable car that came past was full and not taking anyone else, very frustrating. We changed tactics and changed to a line which is not as popular, this was still difficult to get on but we got there in the end. James enjoyed hanging onto the outside of the cable car, I was happier inside. Going up and down the hills was crazy but brilliant. Our first stop was at the top of Nob Hill where we could look down on the high streets. We walked down one of them and decided to catch another of the lines which goes really close to the cable car museum. We got there and had a look around for free, it shows you how the cable cars work around the city. After here we caught another cable car which took us up to the top of Lombard Street which is the most crooked street in the world. It's so bizarre zig zagging all the way down. We got off the cable car and walked down the street. We got one more cable car into down town looking for a book shop of sorts as we do need some kind of map for tomorrow when we pick up the car really. Unable to find anything and the day getting late we decided to head back. We were still pretty full from our amazing breakfasts we just got some snacks to have in the room instead of going out for a meal. Back at the room we did as much organising as possible before getting some sleep.
