Stopped over in Airlie just to break up my trip up to cairns, had a nightmare of an overnight journey on the bus so was glad to stop for 2 days.

This is the place where you do the Whitsundays but I'm waiting on steve (mate from uni) coming out in November to do it so I was just here to sample the nightlife and break up the what would've been a 20 hour journey...why does OZ have to be so big!

Airlie Beach (no beach though??) is a really nice town (camera broken at this point so no photos) but not a place to stay for a long time as it's really just the place to catch the boats to the whitsunday islands. Hired a scootercar (scooter but with a small car body) and went a trip to Cedar Falls, a fresh water waterfall and pool that was good for swimming. The scootercar could only do 50km/h, 60 downhill but 15 uphill, but we eventually got there.

Two nights out here were enough and since Andy was doing his boat trip I set off up to Cairns...cue another 10 hour bus journey.
