San Pedro certainly is an Oasis. A cool place to chill, but some interesting places to visit also. Today we chilled again....then Jay and Helen kindly lent us their mountain bikes so Paul I could head of into the desert yet again, this time to Valle De La Luna (valley of the Moon) A steady 16km bike. A little up hill and we finally arrived at the park entrance, a few sheckles exchanged hands and passage was granted into this valley resemblaing the surface of the moon.. At 2300m we found climbing some relatively moderate dunes took our breathe away. After our pinnacle climb we found ourselves on the Cordillera de La Sal (Salt Mountain range) where we marvelled at the stunning sunset.

Quiet stunning, tranquil and harmonious…and bloody cold! Now an hour ride back, which soon warmed us up due to our competing nature.

A hearty meal accompanied with some local and tasty vino finished us off for the evening. A good nights rest required ready for our trip into Bolivia.
